Dawn’s Testimony

A Song of Ascents.
I will lift up my eyes to the hills.
Where does my help come from?
My help comes from YAHWEH,
who made heaven and earth.
He will not allow your foot to be moved.
He who keeps you will not slumber.
Behold, he who keeps Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.
YAHWEH is your keeper.
YAHWEH is your shade on your right hand.
The sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night.
YAHWEH will keep you from all evil.
He will keep your soul.
YAHWEH will keep your going out and your coming in,
from this time forth, and forevermore.

Psalms 121:1-8

Shalom, I’m Dawn Ben David!

How She Came to Know Messiah

I cannot recall a time when I didn’t know Him, however, I recall vividly the day I made Him LORD of my life.  I was getting ready for work.  I had the TV on in the other room.  Whatever I was watching/listening to had ended and a new show began.  It was some crazy mix up of  a nun, a Christian, and a Jewish Rabbi talking about  “interfaith” crossroads between them.  It was not something I would have watched or listened to but I didn’t want to be late so I didn’t go turn it off but finished getting ready.  VIOLA!  The nun said something like “Do you realize how many people call Him Lord, but never put Him as the Lord of their life?”

I was convicted, repented right then and there, and vowed to read the Bible, His Word, cover-to-cover starting immediately after work that evening.  I did.  I discovered the Torah!  Wow!  What treasures! The rest is literally history.

Testimony

For me it was the summer between graduation of High School and going off to University, that I decided to take a trip to Europe for the summer.  While on this Foreign Exchange summer college credit course trek of Europe, we were given the last week as a cruise tour of the Holy Land and our particular excursion tour package included “Following in the Footsteps of Paul” stopping at the places he traveled and relating the specific areas to Paul’s life and journeys. Many lessons were learned from that experience but the one which stood with me the most was standing just outside what is known as the wailing wall.

Our AFS group was about to go into the men’s side, and the women’s side, but I arrived ‘early’ (LOL)  So I went into a local jewelry store to escape the midday sun.  There I saw the most alluring Star of David jewelry I’d ever seen.  Frankly, at the time my young adult self was embarrassed to be attracted to something so “Jewish” so I prayed about it.  I was in a phase of life of discovering myself for me, without friends and family involved as many young people go through. So I cried out to Him and asked Him to help me understand myself better, talking with Him openly and honestly about not understanding why I would be attracted to something so “Jewish” and He answered (audible voice) explaining a “family secret” I’d never know until He told me.  HE was specific as to which tribe and family I am descended from.  I was blown away.  That was when I learned I was from the Tribe of Judah.

A few moments later, as our class convened and us gals were renting head coverings to be able to enter the wailing wall area, we were given the historical significance of the location and told the cultural tradition of putting a prayer in the wall.  I was spiritually offput by this custom—as I knew Yeshua paid the price so we could go to Him directly in prayer without any intermediaries.  So I prayed what to put in the wall.  Little did I know at that time, but it still riveted me when I discovered the verse in the book of Revelation later, He gave me an end-time verse judging the unrighteous to put in the wall. These experiences in the land, in Jerusalem, with Him, were pivotal to forming me into the woman I am today.  At that time, while I didn’t yet know about the significance of many verses in Scripture, just knew who HE was (and is) and that in the war between good and evil I picked HIM, he was giving me an impression that I would be returning some day.

Since joining Eliyahu in His life mission, making it my own, I endeavor to do what ever I can do, and what ever it takes, to help God, Eliyahu, the family, the ministry, and the rest of the faithful remnant, return home in the upcoming Remnant Exodus. It is my goal.

Psalms 121:1-8

One of my favorite Scripture reading/growth plans is to read the Proverb of the day (what ever the calendar date is, read that…so the first of the month read the 1st Proverb, and the next 5 Psalms every day of every month, repeating when finished)
